YOU ARE LIGHT!

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE

Sometimes I stumble across things that are so complete, so perfect, that I need to do very little, if anything, with them. This image is one example of that. For me that’s kinda like life. Sometimes if you’re looking for something you can walk right by it and never see it. But if you’re available for something to reveal itself to you – you will find a beauty and harmony beyond anything you can imagine. Of course we often get distracted and sidetracked by the lampshade or the light fixture. We focus on appearances instead of the function. And quite often if we just focus on appearances we will walk on by and lose out on any benefit.

Of course there is another side to this wonderful coin. In addition to receiving we also have the opportunity to reveal the light within to others in our lives, our actions, and thoughts – regardless of our appearances. We can be the light. Or as Jesus said in Matthew, “You are the light of the world”. You and I are the light. WE ARE LIGHT! Don’t say you’re not good enough or that you don’t “fit the mold”. You are perfect just the way you are – so let your light shine. Peace and have an absolutely GREAT weekend.

Here’s a song from one of my favorite musicals, GODSPELL

I saw this yesterday and it still is in my mind today. It’s one of your more real, more accessible ones. Clearly a mixture of art-and-real; therefore, gorgeous to me. Love it plenty, dude, love it plenty.

City of Sound: music you need to hear

A favorite group of mine is Thievery Corporation. Here is there song SWEET TIDES from their album Radio Retaliation. For more information about this very cool group check out the following sites. http://www.thieverycorporation.com/ http://www.eslmusic.com/ Happy 2012!!!! I wanted a special musical theme for the new year. Zach Parrish has come through with a real winner with his track, "BLISTERING HEIGHTS". He is a brilliant composer from Morristown, Tennessee, USA. Be sure to check out more of his music at the following sites. http://zackparrish.bandcamp.com/ http://www.zackparrish.com/ I was looking for something different for Decembers musical theme. And I came across this beautiful sound poem by DEUTSCHCHILL artist Karsten Hartdegen from Moers, Germany. To me it represents the beautiful sounds of angels and icicles. Perfect for this holiday season when few of these sounds are heard. Enjoy. Check out his web page http://deutschchill.bandcamp.com/ and buy the music. Like I always say - let's all do our part to support independent music. I gotta say this is my new favorite track. I've listened several times already. Navigate November is a perfect sound for this month (one of my favorite months of the year). The song is by KOWALKSI from Bangor (Belfast), Northern Ireland. Check out their site and order music. http://kowalski.bandcamp.com/ Support independent music. You will not be disappointed. Heinali is Oleg Shpudeiko is a musician/"sound artist" from Kiev, Ukraine. This wonderful ambient autumnal track is called OCTOBER. Like most independent musicians he has a myspace page. Check it out for more music and info. http://www.myspace.com/heinali AUTUMN IN NEW YORK by Deelee Dube (pronounced, doobay) from London, England. What a great introduction to the month of the Autumnal Equinox (Sept 23). Why does it seem that all the best new jazz seems to be coming out of Britain in the past few years? Be sure to check out her myspace page for more music and videos. http://www.myspace.com/DeeleeDube Here is a link and preview to my first book of photo-based digital images with some of my writings. It was a long time in coming but it's finally here. Check it out.
